Should a Triathlete Strength Train?

Should a Triathlete Strength Train?

Are you or do you want to be a triathlete? So check out that coach @lcostenaro has a very important tip!

Every triathlete MUST train strength, just like they SHOULD swim, bike and run.

In addition to the benefits of good physical preparation in preventing injuries, performance gains are evident with solid series of multi-joint exercises.

Studies have increasingly shown that few repetitions at 85% load of your RM (maximum repetition) bring benefits to the base and transition phase within a training cycle.

In addition to this, spending hours on your bike clipped in and going out for a run well worn requires great stability from your CORE. The CORE is a set that involves 29 pairs of muscles that support and stabilize the shoulders, hips, lower back and abdomen.

Without a doubt, dedicating yourself to this modality will bring countless benefits and, as mentioned, it MUST be part of the swim-pedal-run.
